Our soil is made by people that actually grow plants — for people that grow plants. This chunky Anthurium and aroid potting mix is the same medium we use in our greenhouse for mature plants and collector specimens.

This is the chunkier mix we use for mature Anthurium and aroids in our greenhouse. It’s designed to maximize airflow around the roots while still holding enough moisture for healthy growth.

About the Mix

This chunky Anthurium and aroid soil mix is designed for growers who want a fast-draining medium that encourages strong root development and prevents overly wet conditions around the plant.

Compared to our seedling mix, this blend contains larger bark and coarse components, allowing more air movement through the pot. This makes it especially useful for:

  • Mature Anthuriums

  • Philodendron

  • Monstera

  • Other aroids grown in 4–8″ pots or larger

It’s ideal for growers who prefer to water more frequently or grow in high-humidity environments where airflow around the roots is important.

It is worth purchasing a Protection Plan on an unfamiliar item
Bought a 3-year protection plan for a nut milk maker machine for $5.99. It was a fairly new kitchen item in our household and we were not familiar with the brand. So, I bought the plan for a piece (peace) of mind. The machine worked nicely for about 18-20 months with daily use until it tripped the circuit outlet. My initial chat with Asurion did not go as I expected due to discrepancy on their end as they see a protection plan for the nut milk maker as a sporting goods valued between $100-$199, not as a kitchen item valued between $30-$39.99. ( I had bought 3 different protection plan on th same day for multiple items purchased on Prime Days). They were looking at a different plan and I was unable to get them to "scroll over" to the appropriate protection plan. I tried again on a different day during the first hour of their contact hours and had a cheerful Asurion agent who was able to find the appropriate kitchen item protection plan. It was a simple and thorough conversation and transaction. I was refunded within hours after I packed up and dropped off the damaged item out to UPS. Moral of the story: Asurion Protection Plan is worth it and contact them at the start of their first day shift, not at the end of their evening shift.
