True to its name, the TAMA Iron Works Studio series MS756RBK stand features a solid-core telescoping iron boom arm. The arm safely secures your mic exactly where you position it, with oversized knob screws that will lock it in place until you're ready to make a change. Stability is increased and wobble is minimized with a rod stopper made of POM material, which is tougher than the nylon commonly used in economy-grade stands. Plus, the counterweight is removable, which allows lefties to slide the whole boom out and reinsert it from the other side for dominant-hand use and adjustments.

Heavy round cast base with simple but clever enhancement

Typical mic stands with round bases often use machined threads to attach their pipes to their bases, and these threads can easily be damaged. TAMA's Round Cast base has an unthreaded pocket that accepts the lower pipe, and then a T-bolt on the underside of the base fixes the pipe to the base.
